Gutters
Are your rain gutters leaking or overflowing? At STLBuildPro, we pride ourselves on offering high-quality gutter services at a fair price. We will check your entire gutter system for rust, clogs, loose sections, and leaks. We will then develop a repair solution that fits your needs and your budget.
Why Are Gutters So Important?
The main purpose of a rain gutter is to protect your home from water damage—which can be very expensive and may lead to hazardous conditions such as mold. Gutters help to:
- Protect your home’s foundation by channeling water away from its base
- Reduce erosion
- Prevent leaks in basements and crawlspaces
- Protect painted and stained surfaces from exposure to water
- Prevent fascia and soffit boards from rotting – If gutters hold too much water over a long period of time, they can pull the fascia right off your house.
Gutter System Design and Installation
Because of its versatility, aluminum is the most common material used in gutters today. Aluminum gutters are seamless and made with baked-on enamel paint that won’t chip. They can also be painted to match or accentuate the color of your home. Aluminum gutters are fastened using hidden hangers that secure directly into the fascia. Downspouts flush the water from the gutters to appropriate locations around your home. As the roof gets steeper and higher, the speed and volume of water increases, often requiring additional downspouts. Decorative touches or architectural elements on the home’s exterior might also impact the size, location, and number of downspouts necessary.
At STLBuildPro, our inspectors take all these factors into consideration when designing a rain gutter system for your home. We will carefully evaluate your property and select the proper gutter size and number of downspouts to suit your needs. With the help of our new 6” gutter machine—the Grover PRO6 (made right here in St. Louis!)—we will make sure that your gutter system is properly installed. All miters and caps will be sealed with the best quality sealants and fastened using screws only.
Gutter Guards and Maintenance
Gutter guards are designed to allow water to enter while keeping debris out. Effective gutter guards are a good way to prevent the need for frequent cleaning. However, no matter the gutter guard protection used, all gutter systems should be examined yearly for cleaning and repair.
